Sea Blue Restaurant @ Catalonia Royal Bavaro

I cannot emphasize how long I had been wanting to escape to sand, breeze, palm tress and blue oceans.

Life happens and sometimes gets in the way of “me time”.

However, I am grateful that I was able to escape, experience and enjoy Punta Cana!

And guess what? My girl Sandra tagged along!

We stayed at the Catalonia Royal Bavaro in Punta Cana, absolutely gorgeous resort.

On our first night, Sandra was craving grilled meats/seafood so we dined at the Sea Blue Restaurant, per our concierge’s recommendation.

First thing I noticed, gorgeous table linens and setting.

Loved the color, sort of a royal purple with golden tones from the lit candles.

We were surrounded by sand, palm trees and a breeze from the ocean.

We started the evening off with a well deserved Champagne Toast (forgot to take a pic or record it).

We left our husbands and kiddos behind to treat ourselves, hard working mothers, following our passions through our personal businesses.

We also requested Pina Coladas, which were OH MY GAAAAWD!

I promise you, I barely drank water during this trip, Pina Coladas, ALL DAY!

For starters, we ordered the Mixed Seafood Ceviche.

Fresh, which is what I was hoping giving that we were on an island.

Gorgeous presentation TOO!

This ceviche is probably THEE BEST I’ve ever had.

So good, that we ordered 2 of them.

For the main entrée portion of our dinner, I went for their Surf and Turf.

Sandra went for the  Chicken and Vegetables Skewers with French Fries.

Can I be honest here?

Why is the shrimp so tiny?

We are in the DR! I expected gorgeous Jumbo Shrimp in my dish.

The Turf part was OK and could’ve used more spices/seasoning.

This Grilled Chicken Skewer saved the day!

Sandra had hers with a Baked Potato, which she loved.

I tell ya, there was something about the potatoes at this resort.

Since I didn’t like my Turf, I placed an order in for the skewers as well with French Fries.

Well seasoned, tasty, with that smokey flavor, DELICIOUS!

Final course was dessert.

I went for the Mango Sorbet.

This was amazing!

Sandra ordered the Chocolate Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream, which was yummy.

Even though the Steak wasn’t tasty, the Foodie part of our vacation was definitely off to a great start!
